DESCRIPTION
This BIP will introduce learners to epidemiology in the context of public and occupational health and will focus on the use of epidemiology techniques for advancing sustainability in health management.
The BIP includes on-line lectures led by experts paired with interactive workshops and group projects for practical skill development.
After completing the course, learners should be able to:
• describe the health of a population by person, time and place.
• interpret basic statistical methods within epidemiological papers.
• design, register and perform a systematic review.
• formulate appropriate research questions and assess evidence for developing recommendations for practice.
• assess and appraise the effectiveness of public and/or occupational health interventions or services.
