Additive Manufacturing Laboratory

University of Oradea · Materials Engineering

The Additive Manufacturing Laboratory is equipped with a 5-axis LASERTEC 65 DED Hybrid – DMG MORI CNC machining center, which ensures flexibility in the production process by combining additive and subtractive manufacturing in a 3D space, resulting in high-quality machined surfaces. Processes are continuously monitored, ensuring operational safety and quality management. Products are designed using a comprehensive hybrid CAD/CAM system that enables the creation of part programs for both additive and subtractive processing. The machine is ideal for prototyping and testing innovative technological solutions. In this context, it is possible to produce parts from different materials integrated into a single manufacturing process. The application-based operating system provides an interface compatible with the Industry 4.0 concept. The machine is equipped with a significant number of sensors that collect process parameters and with devices for transmitting digital information. Thus, all relevant information regarding the technological processes can be transmitted to IoT and “Deep Learning” servers.

Agilent 5977B GC/MSD

University of Parma · Chemistry

The Agilent 5977B GC/MSD (Gas Chromatograph–Mass Selective Detector) is a high-sensitivity quadrupole mass spectrometer coupled to a gas chromatograph, designed for the identification and quantification of organic compounds in complex mixtures. The system combines the separation power of gas chromatography (GC) with the specificity and sensitivity of mass spectrometry (MS), providing qualitative and quantitative data for a wide range of volatile and semi-volatile analytes. During analysis, sample components are first separated in the GC column, then ionized and fragmented in the mass spectrometer. The resulting ions are detected according to their mass-to-charge ratio (m/z), generating characteristic spectra that allow compound identification through comparison with spectral libraries (e.g., NIST, Wiley).

Autosorb-iQ-C

University of Extremadura

This unit is equipped with specialist scientific apparatus for determining the porosity, surface area and solid density of materials of any kind. It also carries out surface studies using chemisorption tests. Furthermore, it has the necessary instrumentation to carry out studies related to surface, physical and structural chemical changes as a function of temperature. It employs a range of analytical techniques that explain the thermal behaviour of materials by monitoring different properties of the sample in a specific atmosphere, as a function of temperature or time when the sample is subjected to a controlled temperature programme. It is possible to carry out high-pressure tests, as well as monitoring gas profiles using mass spectrometry and/or FTIR spectroscopy.
