Advancing the New EU GREEN Master’s in Urban Studies: Working Meeting in Wrocław

March 16, 2026

On 24–25 February 2026, the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences hosted a working meeting within the framework of the EU GREEN Alliance focused on developing a new international master’s programme: Urban Studies (MSc. SEC), delivered in English.

Representatives from partner universities in Portugal and Italy joined the UPWr project team, including programme leaders and academic staff involved in designing this future EU GREEN joint degree.

The programme aims to educate specialists in urban design and management in line with the principles of sustainable development. Planned as a four-semester second-cycle programme, it will follow a modular international structure: the first semester in Portugal, the second in Italy, the third in Poland, and the final semester dedicated to the master’s thesis and professional internship at the student’s home university.

The curriculum combines theoretical and practical learning in urban planning, environmental protection, and cultural heritage management, while also strengthening international communication skills and the ability to address complex urban challenges using modern analytical, digital, and design tools.

Programme structure

Semester I – University of Évora (Portugal)
Revitalisation and environmental and cultural heritage protection, foundational technical and social sciences, and the development of cultural awareness.

Semester II – University of Parma (Italy)
