EU GREEN Alliance elects new student representatives to lead cross-border collaboration

During the most recent Annual Meeting of the EU GREEN Alliance, a key step was taken to strengthen student participation across the network: the election of a new EU GREEN Student Council. This leadership body will represent the perspectives of more than 158,000 students from the nine partner universities and help ensure that student voices are integrated into strategic decision‑making across the Alliance.

Emil Kindl Elected Inaugural President of the EU GREEN Student Council

  Emil Kindl, President of the ATU Sligo Students’ Union, has been elected as the first President of the EU GREEN Student Council. Emil’s leadership marks a significant milestone for student governance within the Alliance, providing a formal platform for cross‑border cooperation, shared opportunities, and student representation at the highest strategic levels.

Reflecting on his new role, Emil emphasised the importance of building strong connections across all partner universities and ensuring that students are truly at the heart of the Alliance’s work. His tenure promises to focus on expanding engagement, enhancing sustainability initiatives, and strengthening student involvement in international programmes.

EU GREEN Student Senators

Sandra MulicaWrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences

Sandra is a fourth‑year veterinary student at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. She has served in multiple student leadership roles, including chair of the Student Government, and is actively involved in academic governance and representation at institutional and national levels. Her extensive experience in student advocacy makes her a strong voice for inclusion, student rights, and meaningful participation within EU GREEN. 

 

Mario Fuentes MartínUniversity of Extremadura

Mario is a Medical student at the University of Extremadura. As a student of Medicine, he brings a perspective grounded in health, civic engagement and cross‑cultural dialogue. Mario also contributes to student representation at the national level through involvement with student organisations, underscoring his commitment to enhancing student participation in European higher education networks. 

 

Raquel RamalhosaUniversity of Évora

Raquel is a first‑year PhD student in Biochemistry at the University of Évora and a member of the EU GREEN Student Council. With a degree in Biology and a strong interest in sustainability, she works to strengthen student participation and ensure that students’ voices are heard in the Alliance’s strategic decisions. Raquel holds roles as a student representative on the Master’s in Biochemistry Course Committee, EU GREEN Ambassador, and President of the EU GREEN Student Task Force, and contributes actively to communication and engagement efforts within the Alliance.

 

This new Council reflects the rich diversity and commitment of EU GREEN’s student community. As this team begins its mandate, they will play a central role in shaping the Alliance’s future — championing cross‑border collaboration, inclusion and sustainable innovation, and ensuring that the voice of students remains a cornerstone of EU GREEN’s vision.
