DESCRIPTION

The academic content consists of five on-site modules and one online integrative module. Topics include sustainable and smart orchard management; fertilisation and nutrition of fruit trees; fruit production, viticulture and green technologies; phenology, climate change and decision-support tools; and food chains and fruit marketing for sustainable valorisation. The online module focuses on integrated orchard systems and soil–plant–climate interactions, strengthening interdisciplinary understanding through applied problem-solving.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to apply principles of sustainable and smart orchard management, use precision fertilisation and climate-adaptive strategies, evaluate innovative green technologies, interpret phenological and climate data, and understand the role of food chains and marketing in sustainable fruit valorisation. They will also enhance their ability to work in international, multidisciplinary teams and communicate professionally in English.

Assessment is based on active participation, a group project in the form of an integrated smart and green orchard case study, a final group presentation, and an individual reflection report or learning diary.
