From 24 to 28 November 2025, the University of Évora hosted the EU GREEN Entrepreneurship Festival, a milestone event that marked the culmination of a months-long entrepreneurial journey within the EU GREEN Alliance. Over 50 students, researchers, and professors gathered to present more than 20 innovative and sustainability-driven business ideas developed throughout the programme.
This collaborative journey began with an Inspiration Day, where participants were introduced to the mission and goals of the EU GREEN Alliance. It was followed by Innovation Days, where interdisciplinary teams worked intensively to tackle challenges linked to the Alliance’s six research clusters, using agile methodologies to co-create viable solutions.
In the lead-up to the Festival, participants completed an online course on sustainable entrepreneurship, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to shape strong, impact-oriented business plans. The final stage of the journey took place in Évora, where attendees engaged in bootcamps focused on European funding opportunities and decision-support tools for navigating uncertain environments.
The event also welcomed a diverse group of stakeholders, mentors, investors, and representatives from the European Commission, reinforcing its role as a vibrant platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and international visibility for emerging entrepreneurial talent.
A key milestone of this edition was the transformation of the entrepreneurial pathway into a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), enabling certified learning and mobility. Thanks to this format, the Festival also included participants from four universities beyond the Alliance — Riga Technical University, Péter Pázmány Catholic University, Poznan University of Technology and another partner institution — further strengthening its international dimension.
In parallel, the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Staff Week was also held at the University of Évora, bringing together university staff to plan the roadmap for 2027 and 2028 and to share strategies and tools supported by the European Commission to scale innovation and entrepreneurship within higher education.
The EU GREEN Entrepreneurship Festival stood out as a powerful demonstration of the Alliance’s commitment to fostering future-ready entrepreneurial education and cross-border collaboration for sustainable development across Europe.
