Between March 19 and 21, the EU GREEN Alliance brought together around 200 students, researchers, and professionals for the Innovation Days, a flagship initiative of Work Package 4, Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Sustainability. More than just an event, this gathering became a dynamic space for collaboration, creativity, and forward-thinking solutions to some of today’s most pressing sustainability challenges.
Over three intensive days, participants worked in multidisciplinary and international teams, engaging in a hands-on journey guided by Design Thinking methodologies. Ideas quickly evolved into structured concepts, with a strong focus on transforming creativity into viable and impactful business opportunities.
A key highlight of the programme was the international mentoring component. A network of 22 experts from diverse sectors supported participants throughout the process, offering strategic insights and helping bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application.
The Innovation Days are a central milestone within the broader EU GREEN Entrepreneurship Programme, a structured and progressive pathway designed to nurture innovation. The journey begins with the Inspiration Days, where awareness and curiosity are sparked, and continues through collaborative initiatives such as these workshops. Participants will next advance to an Online Course in Sustainable Entrepreneurship, where ideas will be further developed into solid business plans.
This journey will culminate in November at the Entrepreneurship Festival, a high-level event bringing together participants, investors, and experts for project pitches, networking opportunities, and advanced training sessions.
More than a standalone initiative, the Innovation Days represent a crucial step in a long-term educational and innovation ecosystem. By empowering participants with the skills, mindset, and tools needed to navigate the green economy, EU GREEN is actively contributing to the development of a new generation of changemakers, ready to turn ideas into meaningful environmental and social impact.
