UPWr shines in THE Impact Rankings 2025, reinforcing EU GREEN’s sustainability leadership

The Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (UPWr), a proud member of the EU GREEN Alliance, has achieved an outstanding position in the 2025 edition of the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, further reinforcing its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhancing the Alliance’s global standing.

UPWr ranks among the select group of 2,526 universities from 130 countries included in the prestigious international rankings, which assess institutions based on their social and environmental impact. This year, UPWr expanded its scope to include data across eight SDGs—adding, for the first time, SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 13 (Climate Action)—demonstrating a comprehensive and strategic approach to sustainable development.

Nationally, UPWr is now the top-ranked life sciences university in Poland, positioned 5th overall and 1st among similar-profile institutions. It also gained global recognition for research excellence, ranking 9th worldwide in the metric for publications in the top 10% most-cited scientific papers.

By leading in sustainable impact, UPWr not only advances its institutional goals but also strengthens the EU GREEN Alliance’s shared vision of building a more inclusive, sustainable, and impactful European Higher Education Area.
