EU GREEN Showcases alliance strength at The EAIE 2025

The EU GREEN European University Alliance has actively participated in the 2025 edition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) Annual Conference, held from September 9 to 12 in Gothenburg, Sweden. This year’s conference, themed “Go Create”, brought together over 7,000 higher education professionals from more than 100 countries, consolidating its status as the largest and most influential forum for internationalization in higher education across Europe.

EU GREEN was represented by delegates from seven of its nine partner universities, showcasing the alliance’s collective commitment to fostering sustainability, educational innovation, and transnational cooperation. Of the 65 European University Alliances funded by the European Commission, 35 were present at the conference, contributing to strategic reflections on the future of the European Higher Education Area.

Throughout the week, EU GREEN participated with an information booth shared with two other European alliances, NEOLAiA and INGENIUM. This shared space served as a hub for visibility, interaction, and exchange, where hundreds of participants engaged with alliance representatives to learn more about ongoing projects, sustainability goals, and future collaboration opportunities. It also facilitated informal networking and cross-alliance synergies.

Representatives from EU GREEN took part in high-level meetings, thematic sessions, and collaborative discussions on key topics such as joint degree development, student engagement, digitalisation, and sustainable campus transformation. Their presence reinforced the alliance’s leadership role in shaping a more inclusive, connected, and environmentally responsible university ecosystem in Europe.

The conference’s motto, “Go Create”, highlighted the importance of innovation and co-creation in international education—values that EU GREEN champions through its inter-university collaboration model and its commitment to long-term societal transformation.
