“Get active”, an Alliance-wide connected sports challenge!

Coordinated by the University of Angers (France) as part of work package 8 on sustainable and healthy campus, the “Get active” challenge aims to encourage physical activity, combat sedentariness and promote soft mobility. Participants will unite in a collective effort to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. The challenge will also be a great opportunity to strengthen ties between partners of the EU GREEN alliance, as teams from 6 other universities will be competing against the University of Angers: the universities of Évora in Portugal, Oradea in Romania, Wrocław in Poland, Magdeburg in Germany, Extremadura in Spain and Atlantic Technological University in Ireland.

A three-week challenge: From April 8 to 28, students and staff are invited to form teams (5 people maximum) and to walk or cycle to earn points, via the Kiplin mobile app (specialized in connected health games).

As participants take more steps, the team accumulates more points and climbs the rankings! All the steps taken during the 3-week competition will be added to the team’s score. Fun challenges and quizzes will enhance this sporting experience. At the end of the challenge, a leaderboard will show which university came out on top.

“Get active” symbolizes the solidarity spirit carried by the alliance, but most importantly, it illustrates the alliance’s commitment to the transition towards more sustainable and healthy campuses for the well-being of all.
